BLM Releases Sage-Grouse Scoping Report

May 29, 2012

The Bureau of Land Management (“BLM”) recently released its Scoping Report for the National Sage-Grouse Planning Strategy.  The Scoping Report covers the Rocky Mountain Region and Great Basin Region, which includes Oregon.  For more information on the National Sage-Grouse Planning Strategy and the process leading up to the Scoping Report, please refer to our January 2012 post.

The Scoping Report contains BLM’s discussion of the large number of public comments received during the scoping period.  The BLM and Forest Service will use the information collected during the scoping period to formulate alternatives and prepare the Draft Land Use Plan Amendments and Environmental Impact Statements for each subregion in the Great Basin and Rocky Mountain Regions, which are anticipated to be published in the spring of 2013.
